[As part of the remit to make the Untold LA iPad Book available to as many people as possible I'll be posting photos from the book in sequential order on a regular basis until it is completely online.]
The iPad Book is broken up into 11 main chapters, with each chapter focusing on a different neighborhood in the West Adams District. On Page 121 it's Victoria Park's turn.
Each Chapter Heading page contains a photo from the neighborhood, an interactive map that shows you where in West Adams the neighborhood is, links to relevant sites and a video, between 5 and 20 minutes long, where I talk about my reasons for shooting the neighborhood and give background information about the history of the homes and area.
From the Chapter Introduction: "In 1908 development started on this now semi-gated area, known not just for its gorgeous collection of fanciful homes but for being one of the few neighborhoods in Los Angeles where lots are not arranged on a straight grid plan."
In the screen grab below you can see a photo of the Hurd Residence built in 1910; you can watch the Chapter Video Introduction above.
