[As part of the remit to make the Untold LA iPad Book available to as many people as possible I'll be posting pages from the book in sequential order on a regular basis until it is completely online.]
Wanted to end the Introduction by acknowledging that nothing is static; West Adams isn't frozen in aspic, it's not Italy's Venice, it's not 'done'. The neighborhoods of West Adams have been in flux since they were founded and the homes have been in a constant state of repair, renewal and restoration.
So we end the Introduction with a shot of a 1907 Harvard Heights Craftsman under repair, along with two oral history audio clips on why West Adams is different and requires a 'special' kind of person to live there.
Below you can listen to the audio clips, see both the photo as it appears in the iBook as well as as the last page of the Intro which maps out for folks the rough boundaries of West Adams.
